The 50th birthday celebrations for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory continue this month with a whole host of events and activities... and, as we get ready to mark Roald Dahl Day next month, why not get involved yourself by hosting your own Charlie birthday party?

Here's what's happening in August

Just Desserts with Justin Gellatly

The Marvellous Costume Make

Every year, children across the UK don their best Roald Dahl costumes to take part in the Dahlicious Dress Up Day and help Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity raise money for seriously ill children. And THIS year, we want to see some of those costumes - so as you're preparing those Wonka top hats and Matilda bows, enter the Marvellous Costume Make competition and you could win some amazing prizes...

Charlie Weekends at the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, Bucks, UK

If you're in the UK and planning a visit to the Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden - the place where Roald Dahl lived and wrote many of his famous stories - you're in for a real treat. The Chocolate Factory-themed fun continues this summer with Violet Beauregarde trails and an Augustus Gloop party. Lots of fun is promised (even if you are more of a Mike Teavee, a Veruca Salt or a Charlie Bucket...)

The Penguin Charlie Truck Tour

In Atlanta, Georgia, the Penguin Truck will be at the Decatur Book Festival at the end of the month, delighting audiences and sharing Charlie memories from 29 - 31 August.
