The Roald Dahl Museum is hosting a terrific range of tortoise-themed events over the next few months to celebrate Esio Trot on the BBC.
If the recent news about the BBC adaption of Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot has got you reaching for the bookshelf and craving lettuce and tomatoes, you might want to waddle on down to the Roald Dahl Museum. Experience all things tortoise and join in with Esio Trot trails and themed workshops including Lickswishy Lettuce, Terrific Tortoise Fingerprint Art, or Terrifically Tasty Tortoises, all kicking off from Saturday 27 December.
Are real-life tortoises more your thing? Then the Museum’s Awesome Animals Day is not to be missed on Saturday 7 February. With a very special visit from the Reptile Roadshow, visitors can meet a real life Esio Trot and come face to face with swiggles of other cold-blooded creatures and minibeasts. There will also be animal talks and Esio Trot archive talks throughout the day.
The Museum will also be updating some of its displays in Solo gallery to feature props and costumes from the BBC film as well as original manuscripts and archive material. You’ll be able to see the tortoise-grabber suspended from the ceiling and Judi Dench’s very sparkly Mrs Silver dress from Tuesday 13 January.
