Getting ready to face the new term this week? Never fear, September's not all bad - there's Roald Dahl Day, for starters!
It's September. We know what that means for a lot of you. BACK TO SCHOOL.
But don't despair - around here, September is lots of fun! Even Roald Dahl loved September because, as he says in My Year, it's "the Month of the Conker."
It is also, as you may well know, the month of his birthday - which we celebrate every year as Roald Dahl Day. In fact, why don't we tell you a bit more about everything that's going on this September?
Roald Dahl's actual birthday was on 13th September, which this year is a Saturday so you won't even BE at school. There are plenty of ways to get involved - if you're near Great Missenden, come and join in with the Museum's Roald Dahl Day games and activities, and if you can't make it then why not throw your own Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-themed party?
On Monday 15th September, schools the world over can tune in for the annual live-stream of Puffin Books' Roald Dahl Day Virtually Live. With a drawing demo from Sir Quentin Blake and live performances from the home of the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical, this is the perfect way to also celebrate 50 years of Charlie...
The Dahlicious Dress Up Day is back on Friday 26th September, inspiring schoolchildren to dress up as their favourite Roald Dahl character and give a donation to Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity. Charity patron Claudia Winkleman is ready, why not get your classroom involved...
As we celebrate 50 years of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the Roald Dahl Museum has teamed up with Penguin Young Readers Group to offer a series of amazing Skype in the Classroom tours of the Museum. Register your interest for sessions from Monday 29th September - Friday 3rd October.
