If you get tired of turkey sandwiches and bored of Brussels sprouts over the holidays why not pop in to the Museum for a fantabulous family day out.
The Museum will be open throughout the Christmas holidays, with workshops, storytelling and drop-in crafts every day we are open (find our opening days and times here). Why not make some Proghopping Peglegs on Tuesday 22 December, Wondercrump Warming Mugs on Monday 28 December, or even join in with our Crackling New Year Party on Wednesday 30 December.
A visit wouldn’t be complete without a delicious hot chocolate and a slice of homemade cake from Café Twit – and there won’t be a single Brussels sprout in sight you’ll be pleased to know! The Café is open to all, not just Museum visitors, so it’s also the perfect mince pie pit stop if you’re Christmas shopping in the village.
The Museum Shop is packed with great Christmas gift ideas, from Roald Dahl reads to games and t-shirts. You can browse in the Shop during Museum opening hours, or take a look online at any time. For something a bit unusual why not buy a Museum ticket as a Christmas gift?
And if you fancy a winter walk, head off on our Village Trail and discover Roald Dahl's home village and some of the places that feature in his stories. Pick up or download the trail and complete at your leisure – you don’t even need to wait until we’re open.
P.S If you can’t make it over the Christmas holidays, make sure you join us in 2016 when we will be celebrating Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday with a packed year of special events and wondrous weekends. Take a look at our What's On pages for more information.
