Roald Dahl's grandson Luke Kelly and widow Felicity "Liccy" Dahl join the celebrations as Wales announces its Roald Dahl 100 events
On 13 September 1916, Roald Dahl was born to Norwegian parents in Llandaff, near the Welsh capital of Cardiff, and later baptised at the Norwegian Church in the city's Cardiff Bay area.
Today, the Norwegian Church was the venue for a different sort of celebration as representatives from Welsh Government, National Theatre Wales, Wales Millennium Centre and Literature Wales and the Roald Dahl Literary Estate announced a programme of events designed to mark the centenary of the World's No. 1 Storyteller - Roald Dahl.
The Welsh programme is set to include City of the Unexpected, a city-wide performance celebrating all things Roald Dahl, and outreach events by Literature Wales taking the wonders of Roald Dahl's stories and characters far and wide - and lots more.
