Head to the Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden on Saturday 28 November for a gloriumptious Twit-filled evening, with free entry from 3pm.
There’s nothing like channelling your inner Twit at Christmas, and if you join us for our free Night Before Twitmas event you’ll get to do just that – with eyeballs on! Make your own Twitmas Eye Baubles, follow the twitch-tickling Twitmas clue trail around the galleries, head to Café Twit for gingerbread Twits, mince (bird) pies, and Mrs Twitmas’ punch and pick up some special Christmas offers in the Shop, with a special 10% off sale.
Don’t miss your chance to meet Mr and Mrs Twitmas. Join in with their side-splitting seasonal storytelling featuring a very mischievous Mr and Mrs Twit and a demanding Veruca Salt, plus join in with a special rendition of Twelve Days of Twitmas. Why not warm up your vocal chords in preparation by practicing our crackling carol…
On the first day of Twitmas Mr Twitmas sent to me…
A Roly-Poly bird in a dead tree
Two walking sticks
Three dirty beards
Four talking monkeys
Five glass eyes
Seven hug-tight glue tins
Eight Twits a-shrinking
Nine balloons a-floating
Ten bird pies cooking
Eleven cornflakes clinging
Twelve worms a-wriggling
The event is part of Great Missenden’s annual Village Christmas Festival. The High Street will be packed with a Christmas market, festive food and drink stalls and children’s fairground rides. Visitors can also enjoy a guest appearance by Fern Britton, live music, an outdoor film screening, Oliver Twist flash mob and lots more!
The Museum will be open for free from 3pm to 8pm, the Shop and Café will also be open late until 8pm. Great Missenden High Street will be closed, and there will be free parking at Great Missenden station.
