Dunelm raises over £10,000 in 18 days with a 163 location Relay Challenge over 40 days for Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children’s Charity.

Inspired by the 2016 Olympics, Dunelm staff have been working hard to complete a 163 location relay challenge across the UK, totalling a huge 4,4764 miles in only two months in aid of Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity.

The company-wide relay challenge, which began on 11th July was off to a great start with specially designed relay batons, setting off with their teams from four corners of the UK, including Inverness, Londonderry, Truro and Broadstairs. Each baton will make its way through every UK store, manufacturing and distribution centre in just forty days, finishing the race at Dunelm's headquarters in Leicestershire on Friday 19th August.

Dunelm staff have embraced the relay challenge with incredible enthusiasm by already raising over £10,000 for seriously ill children in the UK, with hopes of raising at least £25,000 by the end of the challenge. Staff from Dunelm have been clocking up the miles with in-store rowing machines and exercise bikes, showing their excitement for our athletes in Rio 2016 in the process!

Having raised over £167,000 for Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity since the partnership launched nearly a year ago, Dunelm has been truly marvellous in fundraising for seriously ill children. Staff at the 159 Dunelm stores have also taken part in bake sales, competitions and sporting challenges in aid of the charity.

On Friday 19th August, when the marvellous relay teams reach the final leg of the race and arrive at the finish line, the celebrations for Dunelm's fundraising achievements will be marked spectacularly by almost 30 cyclists crossing the finish line and a cheque presentation to Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity.
