Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity celebrate Roald Dahl at the Urdd Eisteddfod festival.
2016 marks Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday as well as the 25th anniversary of Roald Dahl Marvellous Children’s Charity. We’re celebrating the support that our marvellous Roald Dahl specialist nurses provide to children and their families in Wales and we have been marking his centenary at the Urdd Eisteddfod festival.
We've had a marvellous week talking to visitors about the Dahlicious Dress Up Day where schools around the country take part by dressing up as their favourite Roald Dahl character and raise money for Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity.
Children have been able to dress up as the BFG, Willy Wonka and as Oompa-Loompas! There were lots of marvellous craft activities to partake in too, including a Roald Dahl inspired workshop by Casia Williams to celebrate the newly adapted Welsh translations of Revolting Rhymes Penillion Ych a fi and Cerddi Ffiaidd / Dirty Beasts which is part of the Literature Wales RD100 funded project.
Marvin the marvellous crocodile also made an appearance at the festival and met lots of children and young people who attended.
The children thoroughly enjoyed dressing up to get into the spirit of the Dahlicious Dress Up Day and many registered for their FREE Party Packs which has everything anyone needs to help celebrate Roald Dahl Day on Tuesday 13th September (or any day you like).
