Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity's Nurse Inventing Room has used creative research methods to explore happiness, fulfilment and build resilience for children and families affected by rare diseases.
Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity's Nurse Inventing Room, in partnership with the Burdett Trust for Nursing, has used creative research methods to explore happiness, fulfilment and build resilience in children with rare diseases.
The Investing in Happiness project which was created in partnership with Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, has used a 'Bank of Happiness' to store happy moments the children can draw on during difficult times, they were encouraged to identify, reflect on and capture their happy moments.
Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity also supports the families of seriously ill children through Roald Dahl Specialist Children's Nurses and the Family Grants programme. That's why during this marvellous project, parents were also encouraged to explore their experiences of caring for a child with a rare disease.
The children and families involved in the project thoroughly enjoyed the experience and gained a lot from taking part and it has enabled the participants to feel empowered to store reminders of happy moments and call upon them when they need to.
Help Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity make life more marvellous for seriously ill children in the UK.
