Missenden Abbey, a dedicated conference, wedding and events venue supports Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity by raising nearly £1,500 at their Summer fair.
Missenden Abbey is a dedicated conference, wedding and events venue in the heart of Great Missenden, where the world's number one storyteller Roald Dahl lived and where he drew inspiration for many of his stories. Great Missenden is also the home of The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre and where Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity started over twenty five years ago.
On Sunday 16th July, Missenden Abbey hosted its fourth, annual Summer fair. A day of fun for all the family, with over fifty craft stalls, a delicious baking competition, yummy food and drink and much, much more, this marvellous day was held in aid of Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity and raised nearly £1,500.
Amazing volunteers from Missenden Abbey and Bucks New University generously gave up their time to help support the marvellous event, which also played host to a raffle and tombola with some fantastic prizes.
Marvin the Marvellous Crocodile the charity mascot also made an appearance and put a smile on many faces. With over one thousand attendees, it was a great opportunity for people to hear about the work of Roald Dahl specialist children's nurses and the care they provide for seriously ill children and young people.
Missenden Abbey General Manager Eva Neupauer-Jones thought the day was brilliant. She said, "We were delighted to raise a fantastic sum of money for a deserving cause...we are always keen to support a local charity's fundraising efforts and look forward to working with Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity this year."
Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity wishes to thank everyone involved in making the day a success and for their kind donations which can help provide the best possible healthcare for seriously ill children in the UK.
