"We chose Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity as our charity partner because of their passion and drive to make positive changes for seriously ill children.  We also loved the team, and their enthusiasm and ideas about how we could work together." Collette Butterworth, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, Stobart Group.

Why choose Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity?

We currently raise around £700,000 a year almost entirely from voluntary income. We receive no government funding. Your organisation's support has the opportunity to make a positive and long-lasting impact upon our work, making life better for seriously ill children and young people in the UK.

As a charity partner, Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity brings a remarkable brand identity and powerful cause which will engage your staff, customers and suppliers.

  • We are an experienced and professional charity. We have earned a positive reputation since 1991 across the UK health, social care and charity sectors, making life better for seriously ill children. You can also see our current list of partners.
  • We have a powerful and engaging cause, helping to make life better for seriously ill children. We focus our support for those children who need it most. As a result your team, staff and customers can be confident that their support makes the biggest difference.
  • We have a new reinvigorated charity brand, following our rebranding from the Roald Dahl Foundation in late 2010. For example, our charity mascot Marvin the Marvellous Crocodile is illustrated by our Marvellous President Sir Quentin Blake.
  • We are a medium sized national charity with grassroots reach where every penny counts. For example, our Stronger Famlies Programme targets direct support to seriously ill children and young people who are living in challenging financial circumstances, via a network of social care professionals.
  • Our charitable activities in general have a very good geographical spread across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We can provide your company with facts and figures, stories and visits, to demonstrate how we are helping children and young people in your region.
  • Last but certainly not least, we have the additional weight of one of the world's greatest and most enduring children's storytellers, Roald Dahl, behind our brand.

Working in partnership with us

We believe in mutually beneficial partnerships. Our partners can rely upon us to do our best to go the extra mile. We also value openess and transparency in our corporate partnerships so that together we can build trust and a firm friendship which has longevity.

Every marvellous partnership we have is different and tailored accordingly. We will do our best to be flexible whilst at the same time ensuring that we both achieve - and surpass - our agreed goals.

Unique benefits for you

  • Training days to train and motivate your company's in-house charity champions

As part of our larger scale charity of the year partnerships, we can offer special training packages.  In our experience they can be particularly helpful in providing essential information, tools and guidance for your in-house network of charity champions.

The training will be tailored according to your specific objectives. We recommend it forms part of our early joint planning stages, prior to official partnership launch and roll out to staff and customers.

Individual training sessions and presentations can be delivered at your headquarters. Alternatively you can opt for a total Marvellous immersion day, hosted at our offices (based at the award-winning Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, England).

With fantabulous catering provided by Cafe Twit and the chance to visit the Museum galleries and archive, this is an exceptional opportunity to motivate, revitalise and reward your dedicated in-house charity team.

  • Cause-related marketing opportunities

We are happy to explore how our unique charity may be able to work in partnership with your company to engage new and existing customers, as part of an ongoing partnership.

  • Events

Our fundraising events often have a unique Roald Dahl element to them - bringing fun to children and adults of all ages.

Our Dahlicious Dress Up Day and Oompa-Loompa Skydiving Day are just two examples of fantabulous fundraising events that your staff can get involved in, and we have more new events in the pipeline.

Our events offer your staff and customers a chance to be involved in new and unique activities that can engage the whole family.
