Roald Dahl's Matilda lesson plans

In this lesson plan, students use drama skills to explore life in a school run by Miss Trunchbull.

Roald Dahl's Matilda, illustrated by Quentin Blake.

Matilda is one of Roald Dahl's best-known stories. The story of the little girl with a big brain and mysterious magical powers, her kind teacher Miss Honey and her formidable Headmistress Miss Trunchbull has entertained parents and children alike for generations since it was first publication in 1988.

If you're feeling inspired to explore some of the themes from the story in your own classroom, our lesson plan asks students to use their drama skills to explore what life would actually be like in a school run by Miss Trunchbull...
