Roald Dahl Children and Young Person's Epilepsy Nurse Specialist

Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity and Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust seek a Roald Dahl Children and Young Person's Epilepsy Nurse Specialist to provide expert care and support to children, young people and families affected by epilepsy.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Roald Dahl Children and Young People's Epilepsy Nurse Specialist to work as part of a committed, multi-professional team at Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and provide expert care and support to families affected by epilepsy.

The role at Poole Hospital requires the successful applicant to work both in the hospital and the local community and provide support, information and practical care for seriously ill children, as well as their families. The postholder will be a highly-skilled nurse, dedicated to delivering high standards of care to their patient group. They will possess excellent communication, negotiating and influencing skills to provide the best possible healthcare.

The successful applicant will be eligible to access the Roald Dahl Professional Development Package, which will help them to develop their career and to develop the service. This opportunity requires the postholder to work as a highly experienced, knowledgeable and educated member of the team who can work autonomously, making high-level decisions to treat health needs.  

Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity has 62 Roald Dahl Specialist Children’s Nurses, including 2 Paediatric Neuro-Rehab Occupational Therapists and 1 Play Specialist giving expert help to families across the UK.  Roald Dahl Specialist Children’s Nurses play a critical and complex role. They work directly with the patient and family whilst providing a link between them and the consultant and the hospital.
