Fantabulous news! The Museum will be re-opening on Saturday 20 October!

Enjoy our galleries, as well as free drop-in craft activities every day, and free storytelling at weekends and in school holidays

Top tip! We recommend booking admission and workshop tickets in advance if you're visiting during the school holidays. 

Museum admission

(Concessions are for students, people aged 60 or over or for those with disabilities

(For 2 adults and up to 3 children.)

Disabled visitors are entitled to the concessionary rate of £4.70. Accompanying carers are admitted free of charge.

Blue Peter badge holders are free - must bring both their badge and 'Blue Peter Badge Winner' card to gain free entry. Please call us on 01494 892192 if you have a Blue Peter Badge and you would like to book in advance.

Buy your tickets

You can buy general admission and workshop tickets online or by calling 01494 892192. 


You can buy general admission online. If there are workshops running on the day of your visit, you can add these to your basket after you have selected your general admission tickets - look for the pop-up window.

Please click on the info tab by the workshop and read the details about the workshop carefully before adding to your basket. Some workshops require all adults and children to pay such as author visits, some only require participants to pay, such as craft workshops. 


By phone

Please call 01494 892192, Tuesday to Friday 10am to 4.30pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am to 4.30pm. We can take credit/debit card payment over the phone for general admission and workshops.

If you can't get through on our ticket line please leave a message with your name and number and we'll call you back as soon as we can. Sometimes our ticket line staff may have to help in the galleries, or will be busy responding to earlier messages. 

Please note that we can't take same day bookings over the phone or online. Remaining tickets each day will be sold on the door.


We often run special workshops and events at weekends and in school holidays. You can take a look at our packed events lists on the What's On pagesPlease pre-book for workshops as spaces are limited you can do this by calling 01494 892192, or online up until 4.30pm on the day before you visit subject to availability. Workshops are usually an additional cost and are not included with general admission. 

Buying tickets on the day of your visit

For general admissions visit the ticket desk in the Museum shop. In the event that we are very busy and have tickets available there may be a short wait for entry. Our staff will be happy to point out the Cafe, or provide you with a Village Trail leaflet so you can take a walk around the village while you wait.
