Family participating in a craft workshop

Whirlgig Whifflebirds

If you're looking for a family craft activity to take part in, this is the one for you - make a bright, colourful mobile of feathered friends to hang up at home.

You'll find out about some of the birds in Roald Dahl's books, like the Roly-Poly Bird in The Twits and the Pelican in The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me, and learn about the birds Roald Dahl kept in his aviary at his home in Great Missenden. Then you'll make a marvellous mobile decorated with birds inspired by what you've seen.
