The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre are celebrating Easter in style with a splendid selection of activities to keep your chiddlers entertained over the holidays.

Take a trip to Great Missenden for storytelling, crafts and walks inspired by Danny the Champion of the World and Fantastic Mr Fox. Go on a guided stroll to see the sights that inspired the stories, listen to interactive storytelling from the books, and explore the magnificent museum galleries.

My Year Walk

Sunday 24 March

Embrace the seasons on a guided Roald Dahl countryside walk; kick up some leaves, ramble through woods and listen to extracts from Roald Dahl’s My Year in the beautiful woods and fields that inspired the book.

For age 6 and over.

Roald Dahl Storytelling

Friday 29 March to Sunday 14 April (closed Monday 8 April)
Enjoy storytelling from Fantastic Mr Fox or Danny the Champion of the World.

For all ages.
Free with Museum admission, no need to book just listen out for announcements on the day.

 

Diddly Danny Pots

Tuesday 2 April and Friday 12 April
11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm

Discover how Danny’s dad managed to hide 120 pheasants then make a clay pot to hide some clay pheasants of your own. Wonderfully messy, but you don’t have to clean up after!

For age 5 and over.

Fantastic Clay Feast

Wednesday 3 April and Thursday 11 April
11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm

Listen to some descriptions of Mr Fox’s fantastic Feast, before creating your own in clay. What will be on the menu and who will you invite as your special guests? 

Clay can be marvellously messy so make sure you wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

Construct a Caravan

Get stuck in with junk modelling materials to construct your own mini caravan and petrol pumps, inspired by Danny the Champion of the World.
